The heartbeat of a chicken is 286 beets per
minute for males and 312 per minute for
females in resting conditions.
Chickens body temperature is about 107 to
107.5 degree Fahrenheit
Hens begin laying eggs at about 6 months
Cockerels start practicing their crow at 3
to
4 months
A hen has 340 taste buds
Pullets are born with thousands of cells in
their ovary which produce tiny
unfertilized ovum. When the hen has reached
maturity, one egg cell is released each day.
The hen’s body takes from 18 to 36 hours to
produce one egg.
